ABOUT US

(GHIDE)-UGANDA

Guided Health Initiative for Development (GHIDE)-Uganda Ltd is a non-pfofit making organization registered as a company limited by guarantee with registration number 80020002735302 by registrar of companies in Uganda. It was born out of Rwenzori multi-sectoral HIV and AIDS Program (RHAMP); a community Based Organization that started in Bundibugyo district in 2006 to address the HIV scourge within Rwenzori region. However, due to increasing demand to strengthen the organization, members resolved to widen the scope and address other areas of public health importance and community development. The organization was incorporated in October 2020 with the head office in Kasese town, South Western Uganda.

GHIDE Uganda ltd strives to address the interdependence between health and development. The concept behind the organization’s name is to promote healthy living so as to cause community development. The communities are mobilized to participate in health promotional interventions and they are supported to appreciate a link between health and development.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

  • Provide services that promote the prevention, care and treatment of the leading cause of morbidity and mortality of three diseases; HIV, TB and malaria in Uganda as well as address other emerging communicable and non-communicable illnesses.
  • Strengthen maternal, neonatal and child health programming in Uganda
  • Promote environmental practices that improve the wellbeing of the population
  • Strengthen sustainable agriculture to promote good nutrition and health living
  • Promote education standards for vulnerable children within Uganda
  • Conduct research for improving policy and advocacy for strengthening health care system  
  • Promote family health through advocacy of family food and nutritional security
